Here are some photos from the recent New Jersey Arts Action Day at the Marriott Lafayette Yard Conference Center in Trenton. ArtPride held its 2007 Annual Membership Meeting, outlined some advocacy strategies for the spring, witnessed outstanding student performances, and honored two very distinguished New Jersey legislators!
Don’t forget to sign up for NJ Arts Action Day on February 15 (at the ArtPride web site www.artpridenj.com) and for National Arts Advocacy Day on March 12 & 13 in Washington, DC!
Join us for NJ Arts Action Day and ArtPride’s 2007 Annual Membership Meeting. Activities start at 11 am at the Trenton Marriott Lafayette Yard. Rebecca Herz from the Guggenheim Museum’s Learning Through the Arts Program will talk about the museum’s $500,000 grant from the US Dept. of Education to study the impact of arts education on childrens’ problem solving.
At lunch ArtPride will honor Senator Richard J. Codey and Assemblyman Louis D. Greenwald for their longstanding support of state cultural funding. This is a great opportunity to invite your district legislators to join you for lunch, thank them for their support, and remind them that you are counting on their continued support to restore (and increase) state cultural funding for Fiscal Year 08.
Registration is $40 for ArtPride members and $50 for non-members, and the event is open to the general public. Please join us! You can register online at www.regonline.com/njartsactionday
